What should I do if someone is choking?
When someone is choking, their airway is partly or completely blocked, meaning they may be unable to breathe properly. They might be able to clear it by coughing, but if they can’t you will need to help them straight away.
Cough it out.
Encourage them to cough and remove any obvious obstruction from their mouth.
Slap it Out
bend them fowards and give them up to five sharp back blows between their shoulder blades. After that check their mouth to see if anything is there if it is get it out.
Squeeze it out
If they are still choking, give up to 5 abdominal thrusts, hold around the waist and pull inwards and upwards above their belly button.
